Wondering what happened to me? I’ve been on the road!
I recently returned from a 6000 mile motorcycle trip to the northeast. For most of the month of August, I rode secondary roads through 11 states and 3 Canadian provinces where I visited numerous National Park Service units, museums, and Canadian Parks. From Revolutionary War sites, to residences of former statesmen, tycoons, and artists, to historical sites commemorating houses of worship, armament development, fishing industries, floods, railroads, and plane crashes, to scenic nature areas, to the land of my ancestors – this journey broadened my horizons in so many ways!

Every good road trip requires sampling regional cuisine, and that I did! The coastal towns and farms of this area provided ample opportunities for me to eat local, especially cheeses, ice cream, and all kinds of seafood.

Of course, the best part of every trip for me is the people. I overnighted with a couple of gracious Bunk-a-Biker hosts, met several intrepid bikers and fellow travelers, a bus driver with a kindred soul, and reconnected with a friend from my time working at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.

I have oh so many photos to share and stories to tell. I love being on the road, but I’m also a bit of a home body, so for now, I am focusing on reconnecting with home, friends and family. I’ll be back soon though to take you along for the ride. Thank you for all the support during my travels!

oh, Lordy…..I wish I had been riding “bitch” on that scooter. You’re killin’ me, Smalls.
